Here is a brief list of topics that Angel shares across the country. Each topic has a short summary of what to expect. As always, if you have any questions, please contact us.
Don't Just Survive...LIVE
This talk guides you through the tragic story of Angel and her sister surviving a devastating burn accident. The story is about Angel's sister, Jammie, coming out alive and Angel carrying the burden of guilt and shame by being blamed for the accident.
Angel and Jammie went 35 years barely talking about the event that changed the shaping of their lives but in 2011 they discovered the healing power of communication and unconditional love.
Growing up with parents who each suffer from different issues of social anxiety, bi-polar disorder, and depression, Angel and her siblings had a very unique childhood.
"We were poor, dirty, and taught that when we grew up, we could do and be anything we wanted to be" - Angel Adams
Angel shares the story of her "little house on the prairie" upbringing with her sisters and brother. Living in a one room house with no electricity or indoor plumbing, she and her siblings learned to survive on little and dive into life gaining much.
STONED: Surviving Gay Reparative Therapy and Reconciling Your Faith
For Angel, these typically go hand and hand but this talk/discussion can easily be broken into 2 separate talks.
In 1991, Angel was told that in order to "fulfill the call of God on her life", she would have to attend what she now calls, her first Gay to Straight conversion program. Now, 22 years later, she has 3 of these programs under her belt and despite it all, she isn't even close to what the reparative therapists would call "successful".
This is about going from being taught that you are broken and need to be fixed to you are exactly what you were meant to be and the journey it takes to get from being "broken" to being whole...and it wasn't by becoming straight.
Angel offers a couple of workshops for groups.
- One of those workshops is called "The Self-Made Man". This talk focuses on the importance of relationships and the wonderment of how we as humans succeed on our own. Angel gives the audience a chance to take a look at what it takes to "make it" and translates that to everyday life.
- In January of 2011, Angel ran a successful campaign on Kickstarter.com. This campaign funded a $6000 recording project. The workshop offers the details and know-how to be successful AND an overview of the many different platforms out there that can help you get the funds you desire for your big project. Whether it be music, writing, inventing, humanitarian aid, there is a platform out there for you and Angel wants to help you find it and kick the door open for success.
